I am currently serving as Professor of Cardiology at SGPGIMS, Lucknow, U.P,INDIA. My foray into medicaleducation began by qualifying MBBS in 1978, followed by MD (Internal Medicine) in 1987 and DM (Cardiology) in1992. Join the Dept.of Cardiology, SGPGIMS,Lucknow in 1994, till the current journey as a Prof.of Cardiology.
I was involved in my areas of interest and significant contributions to research in multicentre studies of patients with coronary artery disease in North India, writing in cardiology text books, teaching and trainingstudents in pursuit of creating the cardiologist of tomorrow. Clinical activities include entire gamut of cardiovascularprocedures including Non-Invasive & Invasive in hospital and camps for patients. Special emphasis is laid on interdepartmental clinical research collaboration. I was the co-investigator for WHO collaborated community-basedstudy for research in establishment of Sentinel Surveillance System for Cardiovascular diseases in Indian industrial population. I am intensely focusing on making mobile cardiac care services in the department possible, forbetter outreach and patient care with main emphasis on cardiac epidemiology.
Being a Post Graduate academician, my teaching activities includes DM Cardiology students in training and also serves as an external examiner for DM courses of various universities.I am aregular speaker/chairperson in various professional forums globally & Pan India, championing the cause of cardiovascular health by educating the learned delegates with the latest challenges and striving in pursuit of solutions in cardiovascular sciences.
I have been an active member of National CSI in various capacitiesincluding, Editorial Advisor, Indian Heart Journal (Official Journal of CSI) and Member, National Advisory Committee in the past and asits Vice President. I have organized the19th Annual, Conference of UP Chapter of CSI at Lucknow 2013 and National Interventional Conference in 2019 in Lucknow. I am a Fellowof Cardiological Society of India, Indian College of Cardiology, American College of Cardiology, Society for Cardiac Angiography Interventions, European Society of Cardiology and Asia Pacific Society of Cardiology. I had 28 researchpapers, 64 publications, 160 abstracts in Professional Medical Journals (of global and Indian repute) and 17 books chapters. I had credited for having started the Cardiac epidemiology programme with"LIPID CLINIC OPD" in the department, from 2000 onwards, which caters to evaluating and managing patients with dyslipidemia, catering to especially young CAD patients and screening their families with the Dept.of Genetics, SGPGIMS.
